TRANSPORT TOOLKIT

In the world of relay transport, you now have a use for squirreling away those empty whipped cream tubs, empty coffee cans, that worn out blanket or that old bath towel with the hole. Let the dollar store become your favorite place to shop! Accidents can (and will) happen when you are helping that sweet dog on to his/her new life.

Here is a list of things you might consider for your  transport toolkit:

  • Extra blankets and towels

  • Empty whipped cream tubs and the trays from frozen dinners make great water/food bowls

  • Coffee can: 3 lb filled with premium food

  • Bottled water (for the dog to drink)

  • Milk jug (with twist off lid) filled with water for emergency cleanups

  • Disposable wet wipes (with alcohol so they won't freeze)

  • Extra collars (dollar store)

  • Extra leashes (dollar store - be sure and check the clasp)

  • Large plastic bag for soiled blankets or towels

  • Treats

  • Kongs or other hard rubber chew toys (no rawhide - choking hazard)

  • Book or puzzlebook in case the transport is running behind
