HOW YOU CAN HELP YOUR COORDINATOR

Coordinating transports take a lot of time, energy and organization. Here are a few things you can do to make things a little easier for the coordinator:

*Volunteer as early in the week as you can. This will help us get information gathered early and will draw others to the run if they see it is filling.

*When offering to help, please state the cities you are offering to drive to and from rather than just a leg number. Including the dogs name helps too. We are most likely working on more than one run and this can save us an email to you asking which run you are volunteering for.

*If a handoff is taking place "in" your town, please let us know if you are flexible for either leg coming into or going out of that town.

*Please reply with "I can" rather than "I can probably" take this and such leg. We don't know what that means. Either you can or you can't, please don't make us guess. :)

*Let us know if you are receiving other transport requests for that weekend. Coordinators don't normally have time to read the groups, so we may not know that another coordinator is trying to go along the same route. Depending on the number of dogs on both runs, where the dogs are coming from, where they are going to, timing, etc., we may be able to combine runs with the other coordinator.

*When Friday is drawing near and we are in "crunch mode", please let us know if you are willing to split a missing leg with the driver on the other side of the missing leg to make the run a go. We will continue to seek a driver to cover that leg, but knowing we have a safety net can ease our stress level.

*On the day of the run, when you call in with your check in at your handoff, please state your name and the name of your passenger(s). We are sometimes monitoring more than one run and this help cut down on confusion.
